About the Author

Frank Koe photoFrank Theodore Koe, Ph.D., has held positions as Director of The Design Center at Philadelphia University, Vice President and Director of Restoration (an intrapreneurial venture he initiated) at Scalamandre where projects included The White House, restoration of the Andrew Johnson Suite in the US Department of Treasury, Washington, DC, and The Breakers, Rosecliff, and Marble House, properties operated by the Preservation Society of Newport County, Newport, Rhode Island.

His academic experiences include serving as Professor and Chairman of the Education Department at Saint Francis University of Pennsylvania, Dean of the New York School of Interior Design, Acting Dean of the Baker School of Business and Technology at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and Associate Director of the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship at the Stern School of Business, New York University. While writing the First Edition of the text, Frank was named Writer in Residence at the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution in New York City. Frank has published and lectured widely on topics related to the teaching and learning process, design, entrepreneurship, and fabric. He is currently a Professor of Engineering Entrepreneurship at Penn State.
